The American Military Cemetery outside of Manila is the largest American Military Cemetery in the world. It contains the graves of 17,202 American military personnel who died in World War II. In addition, the names of 36,285 Americans, who are Missing in Action, are inscribed on limestone piers on the Tablets of the Missing at the center of the cemetery.
